Thoughts & Musings
I have some solo shows coming up, new venues.
I have new new songs I wrote I've added to the set list. Some covers too. I have some other things in the works. A big ol' Revival is in the process. The last year has added some anxiety to playing out. I'm taking a new approach to things. Anyway, 3/31/23- Moonshine Mine Saloon, in Nanty Glo, PA 8pm 4/7/23- Angry Goat, in DuBois, PA 7pm Check Facebook.com/danstonerookmusic

61 years ago yesterday (3/19/62) one of most influential artists (and an idol of mine) released their debut album. It received negative reviews and was not thought much of by the critics.
Bob Dylan released his self-titled album. One of the few songs on there that noticed was the tribute for his idol Woody Guthrie, A Song For Woody. Discovering Dylan (and a dislike of the Backstreet Boys) lead me to get a guitar, writing, recording, and performing. Bob Dylan is an idol! I'd be divorced by now.
I worked a lot during the Pandemic. The artistic side of me didn't get to bask in being shut in and shut off from the world. But one needs to pay the bills and mortgage. This line popped in my head a few weeks ago and it's the start of a new song. I'm not sure where I'm going with this yet. I'm hoping it kinda writes itself and let the thoughts go on paper with ease. There's something therapeutic about cleaning and restringing a guitar.
Out with the old in with the new. Cleaning up and shiny. Sweet sounding and easy on the eyes. -Dan |
